Floor plan
Where the walkable floor ends, computed from the zone’s own geometry in the game files, with the 1 named mob whose position is on record plotted on it. This zone has 3 levels and they overlap when flattened, so the control above isolates one at a time.
Lines are floor edges — a wall or a drop. 1 of 1 recorded positions land on drawn floor. What this plan does not mark →
Key to the plan
Where you are
Three bands of floor across six hundred units of height, and open water between them.
- A broken entrance in the depths
- The southern tip of the lake in Dagnor’s Cauldron. Swim down; there is no other door
- A caged room at 14, 100
- Where succor drops you, and a long way from the exit
- Water above you and below you
- The plan draws walkable floor, and much of where you can swim has none under it. It under-draws this zone more than any other on the site — the skeleton of the building, not the map
| Band | Height | Floor found | Pieces |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | z 336 to 364 | 94 | 3 |
| Main | z −112 to 84 | 1,193 | 16 |
| Deep | z −238 to −140 | 116 | 6 |
Floor found is triangles of walkable mesh. Camps, pull points and escape lines are unrecorded.
Four hazards
Cautions
- No water breathing, no zone Item, spell or bard song, before you swim down. A corpse recovery without it is close to impossible.
- Succor is not a way out Elsewhere evacuate lands you at the zone line. Here it lands you at 14, 100 — a caged room distant from the exit. T5
- Phinigel takes your options away Summons, uncharmable, unfearable, unmezzable, sees invisible, immune to run-speed changes, and a belly caster. T5
- The piercing-only rule is inherited, not sourced Classic EverQuest penalised slashing and blunt underwater and no citable record carries that rule. A player fighting here on 9 August 2026 landed normal hits with a sword.
Position and behaviour
Named roster
Fourteen named, and only Phinigel has a published position or level.
P99Wiki>Cconley717, and the Phinigel page carries {{Classic Era}}.
One edit stands out: editor Mandlz added a Raid Instance section on 8 August 2026,
the most recent Legends-era editing on any surveyed zone. No edit comment, no method, and the
instance’s monster levels and types left blank. T3| Named | Loc (Y, X) | Lvl | Race / class | Spawn & notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phinigel Autropos | 111, 37 | 53 | KEDGE WIZ | Raid instance only since 11 June 2026, entered by hailing a voidling. AC 454, HP published as “18k”, 3 attacks a round at 84% speed, 205 a hit. Solo and multiplayer instances share a lockout. The published 12-hour respawn describes an open-world spawn that no longer happens.T5 stats |

One boss, four epics
What drops
Everything below comes off Phinigel Autropos. No other surveyed mob gates four class epics.
| Drop | What it feeds |
|---|---|
| Blue Crystal Staff | Wizard epic |
| Kedge Backbone | Bard epic |
| Robe of the Kedge | Rogue epic |
| Staff of Elemental Mastery: Water | Magician epic |
| Fusible Coral Ore | Fusibility Research |
| Trident of the Seven Seas | Not an epic component |
| Rod of Malisement | Not an epic component |
| Wand of Mana Tapping | Not an epic component |
| The Family Chest Straps | Linked to this mob by the source page, with no chain named |
Class: PAL. If that
holds for the four gated here, far more characters may run them than the class names suggest.
One report does not generalise, and testing any one of these four would settle it.Every other named drops one common and one rare piece. Those are listed in the roster above rather than repeated here.
Named gaps
Still open
Each closes with one log, one /con or one attempt.
| Open question | What settles it |
|---|---|
| Whether slashing and blunt really are unpenalised | One log line of a sword landing normal damage while submerged, against a mob type also fought on land. |
| Whether a non-wizard can finish the wizard epic | One attempt. The paladin epic is already reported done that way. |
| Phinigel’s hit points at D0–D4 | A raid log. “18k” is one classic figure for a five-tier game. |
| Levels for thirteen of the fourteen named | A /con each. |
| Whether the raid instance changes the population | The source leaves both fields blank. |
| Trash respawn | Two passes through one camp with timestamps. |
| Whether the ZEM survived launch | The figure and the patch note agree, and neither is post-launch measured. An experience parse over a known number of kills. |

Ordinary mobs are not itemised here.
What this is and is not. Observations, not rates. A drop seen once is not a drop rate, and nothing here is a probability. Damage is what the mob dealt against the armour it met, so treat the maximum as the shape of the hit rather than a constant. What a log can and cannot tell you →
